I am an acoustic guitar player from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently working as a performer, recording artist, teacher and composer for various different projects and organisations based in the North East of England and elsewhere.
I currently perform, tour and record with a number of acts including Världens Band, McPeake, Tappy Lappy Quartet, Alias Trio, Rhona Dalling and Andy Watt, all of whom you can find out more about on my ‘Bands & Projects’ page. In the past I have also played, and occasionally still do, with award winning acts Last Orders, 422, Katie Doherty and Maz O’Connor as well as XYZ, Southwind and Folkestra.
As a composer I have written film music for local theatre company Cap-a-Pie, had a string quartet performed by musicians from the Northern Sinfonia, a choral piece for the Sage Gateshead’s youth choir, the Quay Lasses, and worked with Katie Doherty to arrange music for the past four Christmas productions at Northern Stage.
As a teacher I currently lead music making sessions for the national homeless charity Crisis and the national charity Live Music Now. I have led various arts award projects for the Customs House, including rock music and songwriting workshops, and occasionally teach various groups and instruments for Sage Gateshead. I also carry out private guitar lessons and have taught at schools and festivals both around the UK and abroad.
